Superon ER308L

The Superon ER308L stainless TIG filler rod is a filler metal for GTAW/TIG welding classified as AWS A5.9 ER308L. It is designed for work on 304, 304L and compatible austenitic stainless steel materials, with application in maintenance, equipment fabrication, railings, supports, tanks and repair of stainless components. Its low-carbon profile makes it suitable when the procedure seeks to protect the welded zone against heat-related problems. In the SoldaForce filler rod family, Superon ER308L differs from Superon ER309L because it targets similar stainless joining; ER309L is used when the joint involves dissimilar materials.

Selection guide

• Select ER308L for 304/304L stainless joints or compatible equivalents.
• Confirm the base metal grade before choosing between ER308L and ER309L.

Use recommendations

• Clean edges and root face before starting TIG welding.
• Use shielding and backing gas according to the approved procedure.
